Today on the site: 29 countries, 8 payment services and 8 guides. Last full review: November 6, 2026.
5 new countries: Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo
Each with its own page, statuses checked the same day on Stripe, Dodo Payments, Wise, Mercury and Firstbase's official lists, and local rules from the US State Department. Firstbase's restricted list was also re-checked for every country.
Three new guides: doola, Firstbase and Wise Business
A review of doola and of Firstbase with the prices shown on their official pages, and a guide to Wise Business for a US company owned from abroad. Firstbase's Start page now says formation is free (state fee only); the other pages note it.
Mercury: Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam no longer excluded
Mercury's prohibited-countries list no longer includes Bangladesh, Indonesia or Vietnam. Among the countries on this site, only Nigeria, Pakistan and the Philippines remain on it.
Local context for 18 more countries
Every country page now has its own section: currency, foreign-exchange rules from the US State Department's Investment Climate Statements, and the statuses of Stripe, Dodo Payments and Wise, re-checked on their official lists the same day.
Local guides for India and Saudi Arabia
India: the Reserve Bank of India's rules on export income and cross-border payment aggregators. Saudi Arabia: the Ministry of Human Resources freelance work document. Each point links to its official source.
Wise, Mercury and Dodo Payments added
Three services were added, each status taken from its official list: Dodo Payments (accepted countries), Wise (countries where residents can hold money) and Mercury (prohibited countries). The guides were updated, and the US company comparison now covers Firstbase and doola.
Full audit against official sources
Every status, price and local fact was checked again against the official page it cites. Statements we could not confirm on an official page were removed, and the Central Bank of Tunisia circular 2019-02 is now quoted exactly.
French, Arabic and Spanish versions
The whole site is now available in French, Arabic and Spanish. Use the language menu at the top of any page.
doola added to the providers
doola has its own page and appears in every country table. It doesn't publish a list of countries it can't serve, so its status is "Check first" everywhere.
Every status re-checked against official lists
"Works" now means the country appears on a list published by the service itself. Payoneer doesn't publish a country list, so it is "Check first" in every country; PayPal in Pakistan too, for the same reason.
Local guides rebuilt from official sources only
The local sections for Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Nigeria now cite only official pages: payment services, the Office des Changes, Tunisian Startup Act circulars and government reports. The Egypt section is removed until official sources are confirmed.
Nigeria: PayPal payments through Paga
Paga lets Nigerian users connect a PayPal account, receive international payments and withdraw them in naira.
New guide: Firstbase vs doola
Official prices, what's included and the yearly costs, side by side.
New guide: getting your money out of a US company
From a customer's card to your local bank account, with the US and home-country paperwork.
Site launched
24 countries, each status linked to the service's official page.
